Sign-in and MFA setup

Overview

Signing in for the first time

Open your preferred browser and navigate to your CLNG URL (e.g. "https://your-city.citylaw.app"). The welcome page will open.

Press the "Sign in" button to go to the sign-in page.

 

When your user account is initially created, you are assigned a random, strong password. For your security, this password isn't shared with anyone or transferred to you.

 

To set your own password and sign in, follow the "How to reset your password" instructions below.

 

How to reset your password

On the sign-in page, press the "Forgot password?" link above the "Continue" button.

You'll see the "Forgot password" form on the next page.

 

Enter your work email address and press the "Continue" button. You'll see a confirmation message on the next page.

 

When you see this message, check your email inbox for a message "Cycom Support" ([e-mail]) with the subject line "Reset your password". (It may take up to a couple minutes for the message to arrive.)

 

Click the “CONFIRM” button or copy and paste the URL into the address bar of your browser to open the "Change Your Password" page.

 

Enter a password that meets the listed security requirements and press the "Reset password" button to save it. You will see a confirmation message.

 

When you see the "Password Changed!" confirmation, you can navigate back to your CLNG URL and sign in with your new password.

 

Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

If you haven't yet set up MFA for your account, you will see the "Secure Your Account" page after entering your email and password and pressing "Continue".

Download and install an Authenticator App on your phone. We recommend Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.

What follows are instructions for Microsoft Authenticator.

After installing Microsoft Authenticator, open the app and press the "+" button at the top-right.

Press the "Other" option in the following list.

The camera on your phone will open. Use the camera to scan the QR code on the "Secure Your Account" page in your browser.

After scanning the QR code, your CLNG account will be added to the Microsoft Authenticator list with your organization's name and your email address.

Type the six-digit code shown in the Microsoft Authenticator app into the "Enter your one-time code*" textbox on the "Secure Your Account" page in your browser, then press "Continue" to complete the sign-in process.

You can now access your MFA-secured CLNG account! 🎉

The next time you sign in, after entering your email and password you will see the "Verify Your Identity" page where you must enter your MFA one-time code from your chosen authenticator app.

To reduce how often you need to enter this code, mark the "Remember this device for 30 days" checkbox before pressing "Continue".
